TBD TV Network Determines Imminent Rebrand To Roar
The laughter officially becomes the brand on April 28
There’s a network on TV you might not have heard of called TBD. It launched in 2016 and originally featured shows sourced from Internet entities like The Fine Bros., CollegeHumor, Geek and Sundry, Nerdist, and Cheddar. And briefly the KidsClick block. But in December 2023 that changed, as it now broadcast “ground-breaking comedy franchises that deliver the funniest, most memorable, uproarious humor on TV” like Punk’d, Key & Peele, and Whose Line Is It Anyway? Last fall, they became the home of daily Saturday Night Live reruns, ranging most of the show’s run, the latest in a history that included Comedy Central, E!, and VH1. Now, this shift will result in a new solidified identity as the network announced in March it will rebrand as ROAR on April 28.
“The launch of ROAR marks the completion of a plan we set in motion in 2023-to position the network as a clear alternative to the traditional sitcom-based multicast networks by broadcasting live, audience based, comedy franchises. The new identity truly reflects the network’s energy and ambition for audiences and advertisers alike,” said Adam Ware, the senior vice president of Growth Networks Group.
Quinta Brunson Gestures Back For 'SNL' Encore In May With Benson Boone
Quinta Brunson’s Sunny day is still ahead, but first, she’s heading back to Studio 8H. Kicking off the final month of Saturday Night Live’s milestone 50th season, the Abbott Elementary creator and star is making her return to host on May 3, with musical guest Benson Boone.
Heading into the rebrand the network boasts record-setting growth, achieving its highest ratings to date, at least for February across every key demographic and daypart. That includes +42% growth year-over-year, making it the network’s highest rated month ever. The network’s marathon commemorating Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary was watched by 3.2 million viewers. The bar might be low, but it shows they’ve found an audience with this shift. If you don’t have cable anymore they have a free stream on their website TBD.com.
