The Nacelle Company Is Bringing Its 'Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa' Reboot To San Diego Comic-Con
Cattle up and let’s rodeo, apparently. The Nacelleverse is growing
Nearly two years ago, The Nacelle Company announced it was rebooting Biker Mice from Mars and Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, two animated series from the 1990s that never really got to keep up in the zeitgeist as they built a multimedia shared universe called the Nacelleverse. On the television animation side, that began with RoboForce: The Animated Series back in April. Now, ahead of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Nacelle has announced that they’re bringing the show, set to premiere in 2027, to geekdom’s biggest party.
At San Diego Comic Con, Nacelle will be holding limited-edition giveaways and showcase a first look at art from the upcoming comic and animated series, and early prototypes of the new action figures in the toyline. Set in the 1800s, the original series Cow-Boys included Marshal Moo Montana, Cowlorado Kid, and Dakota Dude as they were the lawmen who delivered frontier justice, protecting CowTown from the corrupt Mayor Oscar Bulloney, ruthless Sheriff Terrorbull, and a rogues gallery of other outlaws. Cowlamity Kate, Lily Bovine, Cody Calf will also be part of this iteration. So they could be seeing anywhere from a few to most of how the characters translate to modern toys.
The Nacelle Company Is Rebooting 'Biker Mice From Mars' And 'Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa'
As Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has its romp in theaters, two long-dormant franchises considered ripoffs of the Turtles back in the heyday of the original animated series are being reawakened. Biker Mice from Mars and Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa
The franchise was created by comic book artist Ryan Brown, who came from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and created some of its memorable characters. The original animated series ran for two thirteen episode seasons, 26 total, on ABC from September 1992 to December 1993. It starred Pat Fraley, Jim Cummings, and a lot of Jeff Bennett, and included Joe Piscopo in its supporting cast. Similar to how they’ve teamed with Ryan Reynolds and his Maximum Effort company for Biker Alice and Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks for RoboForce, they’re looking for similar celebrity producer-level backing.
Nacelle will also be releasing C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa: Origins in September, a four-issue comic miniseries with Oni Press that, as a prequel comic will explore how after a mysterious Great Comet “cow-metized” the Western plains, the C.O.W.-Boys first teamed up, aligning with the franchise’s original backstory.
