'The Simpsons' “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” Disney+ Christmas Episode Trailer Released
D’ohn we now our Christmas special falalalala
The Simpsons is coming off of hosting a very entertaining Funday Football outing between the Bart-led Cincinnati Bengals and Homer-led Dallas Cowboys, and just a couple of weeks prior aired its second spooky episode of the season, “Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes” just before Thanksgiving. However December 17 is fast-approaching. Its d’ohble-length Christmas episode, “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” premiering exclusively on Disney+ to commemorate its 35th anniversary, and the first of three stories to do so, was going to need a trailer. After all, Family Guy’s Hulu-exclusive Christmas episode “Gift of the White Guy” got one, so it’s only fair.
The official synopsis reads that famed British mentalist Derren Brown, voicing himself, comes to Springfield and uses psychological tricks and showmanship to raise the town’s Christmas spirit. Homer is hypnotized and mistakenly believes he is Santa Claus, setting off a cheery chain-reaction and causes everyone to question what they believe and to explore the meaning of “miracle”. It’s a 30 second trailer that certainly showcases that Home's delusion is properly fed. The special double episode gets to fit in musical performances by Patti LaBelle and Pentatonix.
The Simpsons premiered with a Christmas special “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” on December 17, 1989, so “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” has blatant intentions with the exact date. There have been 19 other Christmas episodes between the two. Even with this Disney+-exclusive release, there are still new episodes premiering on Fox on both the Sunday before, the 15th, and the 22nd, the Sunday after. They are “Homer and Her Sisters” and “The Man Who Flew Too Much” respectively. “Homer and Her Sisters” is still in the 8:30 PM slot and sees Krusty's truth-telling aunt fixes Homer's relationship with Patty and Selma after a fight in an escape room, while “The Man Who Flew Too Much” moves back into the 8 PM timeslot and sees the new and improved Pin Pals travel to Capital City for their first ever state bowling championship. Neither’s promos have surfaced yet, but you can watch the “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” trailer below.
