'Elle' Peers Into School Life, Casting Trio Including Chandler Kinney As Classmates
High school is such a serious thing, these castings matter
As we go on, we remember all the times prequels introduced new characters. Elle, Prime Video’s prequel series to Legally Blonde which follows Elle Woods’s formative high school experiences, has added three more series regulars that help to populate that very high school: Chandler Kinney, Gabrielle Policano, and Jacob Moskovitz.
Kinney will play Kimberly, a sharp-tongued senior who shows great disdain for Elle, while Policano will play Liz, Elle’s opposite in every way, and Moskovitz is Miles, the school’s star athlete who seems to fall for Elle. Definitely not as detailed character descriptions as John Stewart’s parents got on HBO’s Lanterns, but that’s okay. That brings the current cast up to six, with Lexi Minetree as Woods and June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott as her parents Eva and Wyatt.
Tom Everett Scott Is Going To 'Elle' As Her Dad
This is the spring that Tom Everett Scott turned pink. The That Thing You Do star has joined Prime Video’s Legally Blonde prequel series Elle as the title character’s father, Wyatt Woods.
Kinney is probably best known for starring as Willa in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise, including The Re-Animated Series and upcoming fourth film Dawn of the Vampires. She also starred as Tabby Haworthe in both seasons of the Max Pretty Little Liars series, respectively subtitled Original Sin and Summer School, which are essentially a soft reboot of the original ABC Family series. Kinney also competed in the latest season of Dancing with the Stars, its 33rd, finishing in 3rd place alongside her partner, Brandon Armstrong. She was a series regular in Fox’s Lethal Weapon series as well.
Moskovitz’s most recent film is A24’s Y2K, directed/written by Kyle Mooney and Evan Winter and will next be starring in the Seth Meyers-produced film Brian. Coming up he’ll also be seen in the films Isle Child and The Floaters. His previous TV credits include Chicago P.D., The Good Fight, Magnum P.I., and FBI: International.
Policano has mostly done stage work, recently starring with Maggie Siff in Breaking The Story at Second Stage, and in the lead role of ‘H’ in Falcon Girls at Yale Rep. Their other theater credits include Let the Right One In at Berkeley Rep and The Welkin from the Atlantic Theater Company. She was also seen in the Nicole Kidman film Babygirl.
Creator Laura Kittrell, whose work includes High School and Insecure, is co-showrunner and executive producer of Elle alongside Caroline Dries. Reese Witherspoon, who originated the role of Elle Woods in the Legally Blonde films, Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky, and Marc Platt also serve as executive producers. Jason Moore is directing the first two episodes and the series is produced by Hello Sunshine, Witherspoon’s company, and Amazon MGM Studios.
'Malcolm In The Middle' Revival Gets Malcolm’s Girlfriend, Daughter, Francis, Reese, New Dewey, And Younger Siblings
Yes, there’s no maybe I don’t know, but the cast for Disney Branded Television’s 4-episode Malcolm in the Middle revival for Disney+ is being built quite well. Already with Frankie Muniz’s Malcolm, Jane Kaczmarek’s Lois, and Bryan Cranston’s Hal from the original 2000-2006
