Justin Long's For Possession In Disney+ And Hulu 'Goosebumps' Series Trailer
The shared series based on R.L. Stine's novels premieres on October 13
Just a week after the date reveal teaser, Disney+ and Hulu have released the full trailer for their Goosebumps series from Disney Branded Television and Sony Pictures Television coming next month.
Set to Travis Scott’s “Goosebumps”, the trailer seems to lean quite a bit on the Say Cheese and Die! aspects of the adaptation, as the five high schoolers, played by Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price go off on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of teen Harold Biddle, unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past, according to the logline. Meanwhile Long’s Nathan Bratt is a schoolteacher who, becoming possessed by an otherworldly spirit may very well have become connected to said murders if the spirit is that of Biddle’s.
The new series, premiering on October 13 on both streamers for their respective Hallowstream and Huluween celebrations, draws elements from four other of series author R.L. Stine’s most popular Goosebumps stories: The Haunted Mask, which certainly seemed present in the trailer, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms! and Night of the Living Dummy, with Slappy being the centerpiece of the series’ poster. The series also stars Rachael Harris, who is presumably whom the possessed Bratt awkwardly waves to at the snowy cabin.
Running ten episodes for its first season, the first five will premiere together and then the last five release over five subsequent weeks. The premiere and finale are written by Nick Stoller and director of the 2015 film adaptation Rob Letterman, as they developed and executive produce on the series. Before said movie and its Haunted Halloween sequel, Goosebumps was originally adapted as an anthology series that ran for four seasons and 74 episodes from 1995-1998, airing on Fox Kids in the United States.
