Kate Micucci, Current Main Voice Of 'Scooby-Doo'’s Velma, Reveals Lung Cancer Surgery

Actress and comedian Kate Micucci, half of comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates and known for her appearances in such series as their own on IFC as well as Scrubs and Raising Hope, has revealed she’s been diagnosed with lung cancer and undergone surgery to remove it.
On a video on TikTok she called a “SickTok” from the hospital, still in her robes because it was that kind of update, the 43-year-old said “I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. It’s really weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise. But I guess it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out — I’m all good.” She would add “It’s been a little bit of a trip. I’ll probably be moving slow for a few weeks, but then I’ll be back at it.” She grew quite self-aware about how much she’d been talking and pinned it on the administered drugs she was under.

Her other major roles include Sadie Miller on Steven Universe and Steven Universe Future, Sarah Murphy on Milo Murphy’s Law and Webby Vanderquack in the DuckTales reboot.
