'Monster High' Animated Series Resumes Season 1 With New Spooky Episodes All October
It kicks off October 2, which leads to the premiere of the live action 'Monster High' movie sequel
It wouldn't be October without spooky monsters, and for Nickelodeon for the second year running, that means all the Monster High. Not only is the live action Monster High 2 movie premiering on October 5, but the animated series that premiered with a sneak peek after the first film a year ago that week (before beginning regular airings three weeks later) is returning for new episodes on Monday October 2.
New episodes will be premiering all month long at 5 PM, but it all kicks off with a half-hour special, "Spell The Beans", where Dracula investigates rumors of witches at Monster High, and so Draculaura finds herself considering whether she should share her secret or get caught. The remainder of season 1 will introduce characters familiar and original to this iteration and features more half-hour specials that see the students battle a zombie invasion and a Night of Terror. They will hunt to find Monster Talismans and midterms before the Monster Ball in the season finale.
On October 27, a year's worth of Fridays after the series began its regular airings, the franchise returns to its roots with a new animated webseries, Monster High Mysteries: Monster Ball, premiering on YouTube, although plot details haven't been given. The Monster High animated series stars Gabrielle Nevaeh as Clawdeen Wolf, Courtney Lin as Draculaura, Iris Menas as Frankie Stein, Tony Revolori as Deuce Gorgon, Kausar Mohammed as Cleo De Nile, Valeria Rodriguez as Lagoona Blue, Alexa Kahn as Toralei Stripe, Alexander Polinsky as Heath Burns, and Debra Wilson as Headmistress Bloodgood. New in these episodes are America Young, original voice of Toralei as Stheno, Kate del Castillo as Selena Wolf, Rhea Seehorn as Medusa, Jessica Darrow as Skelita Calaveras, John O' Hurley as Hades, Debi Derryberry as Euryale and Wayne Knight as Ralph.
The series has already seen a recurring or guest cast that includes Ken Marino as Dracula, Riki Lindhome as Purrsephone, Kate Micucci as Meowlody, Miles Brown as Gil Webber, Kayla Cromer as Twyla, Krystina Alabado as Nefera De Nile, Felicia Day as Ghoulia, Valeria Rodriquez as Spectra Vondergeist, Scott Menville as Romulus, Cole Massie as Finnegan Wake, Victoria T Washington as Howleen, and Jordan R. Coleman as Manny Taur.
Shea Fontana serves as showrunner and co-executive producer, with Nick Filippi as supervising producer. Production is overseen for Nickelodeon by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President of Big Kids Animation, and Nikki Price, Director of Development in Animation, and for Mattel by Fred Soulie and Christopher Keenan.
