Loki Has A Hard Timeslip In 'Loki' Season 2 Trailer
The trailer also gives the first footage of Ke Huy Quan's role in the series
It has only been five days since Marvel Studios’ latest series, Secret Invasion, but it seems they and Disney+ are already ready to start promoting the upcoming second season of Loki, even when the actors can’t. The official trailer was released on Monday.
The God of Mischief may have found himself a commonality with The Flash’s Iris West, as she had her infamous time sickness and he’s going through “timeslipping”. As Tom Hiddleston’s character puts it “I’m being pulled through time, between the past and the present.” Hiddleston’s Loki says in the trailer. He also describes a big enough pull that let him see there’s nothing that stands “between this world and complete destruction”. When we left off, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino)’s killing of Kang variant He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) threw everything into chaos, where she and Loki never teamed up, and Mobius, played by Owen Wilson has no memories of the experience they had over the season. For most of the trailer it seems Mobius has himself straight, including while he and Loki talk to TVA desk worker Ouroboros O.B., played by Everything Everywhere All At Once and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’s Ke Huy Quan. However, the trailer does feature several moments of Victor Timely’s presentation that made for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s second post credits scene. Loki and Mobius sit down for some key lime pie together. Sophie does come back around, plucked from a McDonald’s. Timely’s Miss Minutes is old-timey and even ghostly. How fun.
Marvel Studios Announces Premiere Dates For 'Loki' Season 2 And 'Hawkeye' Spinoff 'Echo'
On the eve of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s Disney+ debut, Marvel Studios announced premiere dates for two of its upcoming series for the streamer. Loki will be returning, and Echo, the spinoff of Hawkeye starring a reprising Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez aka Echo, will be premiering this fall.
The timeline is running out. Loki season 2 premieres October 6 on Disney+, despite being tied to why original series moved from Fridays to Wednesdays in the first place. It stars stars Hiddleston, Wilson, Di Martino, and Majors with returning cast including Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Neil Ellice as Hunter D-90, Eugene Cordero as Hunter K-5E and Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes. New cast for season 2 include Quan and undisclosed roles for Neil Ellice, Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie and Liz Carr. They may have already been seen in the trailer. Casal might be who Loki puts to the wall, or the movie star emerging from the limo.
Eric Martin, a staff writer during Season 1, became head writer for Season 2 and also serves as an executive producer. Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani are this season’s directors. Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. Wright, Hiddleston, Benson, Moorhead, and Michael Waldron are the other executive producers, with Trevor Waterson serving as co-executive producer.
Donald Glover And His Brother Stephen Are Now Writing The 'Lando' Series
If it wasn’t implied before that Disney+’s Lando series would be about a younger Lando Calrissian, it’s much clearer now. Donald Glover, who has been in talks to reprise the role he played in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and brother Stephen Glover have taken over the writing of the series as it continues to develop at Lucasfilm.
