The First Four Minutes Of 'Secret Invasion Are Available Now
The rest of the first episode of the miniseries premieres June 21
Over the last few weeks, marketing has picked up for Marvel Studios’ next Disney+ series, Secret Invasion, premiering June 21. New substantial trailers, posters, the whole shebang. But memorable marketing campaigns do something special to stand out. So what better for a conspiracy thriller miniseries to do than viral marketing to provide secret footage on a secret website?
The show’s official Twitter account began sharing clues for a new website that disappeared after 5 minutes. The clue board that appeared revealed a password, RSD3PX5N7S, intended for The Invasion Has Begun, at theinvasionhasbegun.com. Located there are the first five minutes of the first episode, which begins with Agent Prescott, played by Richard Dormer, narrating about not being able to trust anything or anyone. Martin Freeman's Agent Ross discovers a safe room where Prescott is located. There Prescott explains his Skrull conspiracy theory to Ross, believing that five individual terrorist attacks are all connected, as part of well, the Skrull invasion. Ross isn't quite convinced, so he doesn’t find it necessary to summon Fury for something like this when he’s still up S.A.B.E.R. base up in space. While Ross promises he will present the evidence to Fury, Prescott attacks him. The final minute is dedicated to the most recent trailer.
The miniseries stars Samuel L. Jackson back as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as ally Skrull Talos from Captain Marvel, Cobie Smulders back as Maria Hill, Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik, leader of the rebel Skrulls, Dermot Mulroney as President Ritson, who may or may not survive, Emilia Clarke as Talos’s daughter G’lah, Olivia Colman as Fury’s old MI6 buddy Sonya Falsworth, and Don Cheadle back as James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes aka War Machine. Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, and Carmen Ejogo have not had their roles confirmed yet.
Secret Invasion premieres on Disney+ on June 21 with just a single episode, and single episodes come for the five weeks after, concluding on July 26.
