Fresh off the arrival of Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie to Paramount+, the streamer, Nickelodeon, and franchise creator Pinkfong released the trailer for their Baby Shark’s Big Show! movie, Baby Shark’s Big Movie! The fin-tastic musical adventure premieres December 8 on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada, next day in the United Kingdom and Australia, with further rollout later. It will also get a quick linear premiere on Nickelodeon at noon on release day.
The story for Baby Shark's Big Movie! is that Baby Shark and his family move to Chomp City, the big city of sharks, just after sharing friendship bracelets with his best friend William. Baby Shark must adjust to life separated from his best friend, while also grappling with pop star Stariana, voiced by Ashley Tisdale, who with her sharp wit and manipulative ways, wants to dominate all underwater music. She finds he is the “catchiest fish in the sea”, of course for the song. Even Gillie, her chaotic and bumbling boxfish assistant voiced by Aparna Nancherla, seems previously aware, but surprised it’s still the case. Stariana makes it her mission to steal the song and enrapture the populace. While experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of city life, he goes on a mission to break her spell over and save everyone, especially after she’s captured William.
Like the series, Baby Shark’s Big Movie! stars Kimiko Glenn as Baby Shark; Luke Youngblood as William, Natasha Rothwell as Mommy Shark, Eric Edelstein as Daddy Shark, Debra Wilson as Grandma Shark and Patrick Warburton as Grandpa Shark. The film’s supporting cast includes Lance Bass, Cardi B, Offset, and their first child, Kulture as Sharki B, Offshark, and Kulture Sharki, and second child Wave as Wavey Shark, Ego Nwodim as Leah, a lantern shark and Mommy Shark's college best friend, Chloe Fineman as Lannie, her hyper and lovable daughter, and K-Pop boy band ENHYPHEN as beluga versions of themselves.
Baby Shark’s Big Movie!’s songs were composed by Jon Chau and written and produced by the team of Matthew Tishler, Andrew Underberg, Chen Neeman, Doug Rockwell, Tova Litvin and Pinkfong. They will be released on a soundtrack that releases with the film on December 8.
