Mick Confirmed For First Episode In 'Cosmic Fury' Clip Released For Power Rangers Day
Happy 30th anniversary Power Rangers!
Happy Power Rangers Day everyone! 30 years ago today, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers premiered on Fox Kids and has been running ever since. To commemorate, the brand released a clip from the upcoming 30th season, Cosmic Fury, releasing in September.
The clip comes from the first episode, which would have been evident on its own, as we see Amelia, soon to become the Red Cosmic Fury Ranger still as the Dino Fury Pink Ranger. She meets up with Mick from Ninja Steel. They had met in Dino Fury’s eighth episode, “Unexpected Guest”. There are 36 episodes of story that happened in between, so while he’s not told everything that happened, Amelia hits the important points, including her Rafkonian heritage, her parentage being Void King and Void Queen, though he didn’t know them by those names, as he was Void Knight at the time, or her much at all. She goes into how they became evil, her final attack, and Red Zayto’s sacrifice and return that put him and his teammates on the mission to hunt Lord Zedd. The episode’s title has not been revealed yet, nor has any of the other night.
Showrunner Simon Bennett had confirmed he would reappear when the theme song and premiere date were revealed a few weeks ago. At least, as far as he could without explicitly saying so and violating his NDA. In an official capacity none of the material the show itself has released has seen any of the Cosmic Fury suits, but of course, it’s gotten out there. It is believed that there will be more legacy guests, but none have been confirmed.
Power Rangers Cosmic Fury stars Hunter Deno as Amelia, Russell Curry as Zayto, who will be the Zenith Ranger, Kai Moya as Ollie Akana the Blue Ranger, Jordon Fite as Aiyon the Gold Ranger, Tessa Rao and Chance Perez as siblings Izzy and Javi Garcia, the Green and Black Rangers, Jacqueline Joe as Izzy’s girlfriend Fern (and the currently-unannounced Orange Ranger) and David Yost as Billy Cranston, the original Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger. All ten episodes of the season premiere on Netflix in just 32 days, on September 29. The very recappy clip can be watched below.
