‘Spidey And His Amazing Friends' Announces Voices For Jeff the Land Shark And Captain America
It’s time to settle some unfinished business as season 4 of the hit Disney Jr. series begins
When Disney Branded Television and Disney Jr. were hyping up the fourth season of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, they boasted the new “Water-Webs” arc, as well as returning guest stars. They also boasted new characters, namely Jeff the Land Shark and Captain America, a Steve Rogers one at that. However, they refrained from revealing who voiced them. Now, not only has the season premiered linearly on Disney Jr. and Disney Channel, but the next-day posting of the first six episodes on Disney+ has too. The network let Rama Vallury and Roger Craig Smith announce their roles themselves.
Before we get to them, it’s worth discussing just how they wrapped up the “Dino-Webs” arc. There were five episodes before “Water-Webs”, with 5B being “Dinos Are Forever”. With a title like that it sounded like an episode that would wrap the bow, but on a simple quick scrub it didn’t feel like it. Episode six, “Voyage to Spider Island” and “Superhero Soak” do launch “Water-Webs”, with Jeff in the former segment and Steve in the second. Disney Jr. aired these as the season premiere. I see where they’re coming from with that, push the gimmick up front and all. Vallury wrote “JEFF THE LAND SHARK! I’m happy to announce that I am the voice of Jeff the Land Shark - Web Beard’s Little Buddy - on Spidey & His Amazing Friends on disneyjr. As far as I know, this is the first time our favorite Land Shark has appeared in a marvel animated tv show! Thanks to everyone at Disney Animation and Marvel Studios, topolbecca the great Allyson Bosch and of course my agent… for what has been an incredibly fun journey…that is just getting started! Special thanks to Bertie, Mister Mick Jaggery - and their agent, Momager, and my wife sharmita_bhattacharya - for inspiring Jeff’s voice and personality. They’ll get extra good boy treats for their services to animation”. Jeff originated from the West Coast Avengers comics in late 2018, was formally named a few issues later, and saw his popularity skyrocket thanks to the Marvel Rivals video game. Indeed, being such a young character with a significantly more recent breakout, this is the character’s first television appearance. Vallury first rose to prominence on Nickelodeon’s game show Tooned In, as the voice of Nicky, the animated A.I. robot assistant to host Jerry Trainor. Lately, he can be heard as Ygor on the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment ride at Epic Universe in Universal Studios Orlando.

Smith’s post was far more succinct, writing “Always great to be behind the shield! Catch me as #CaptainAmerica on #SpideyAndHisAmazingFriends!”. Whether you know him best for his 15 years and counting as Sonic the Hedgehog, or as Batman in various projects, as his post implies, he’s been Captain America before, dating as far back as Ultimate Spider-Man, continuing through the entirety of Disney XD’s Marvel Animation lineup: Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Guardians of the Galaxy, and the 2017 Spider-Man cartoon. Other appearances include the Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers and Marvel Future Avengers anime, and several Lego Marvel video games and animated specials.
Spidey and His Amazing Friends will continue to air on Disney Jr. and Disney Channel, seemingly shifting to weekly premieres after this week. When its next Disney+ drop will be is unclear, it feels pretty soon to know.
