'The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball' Announces Hulu Premiere Date
Both Hulu and Cartoon Network shared the news on their socials
It’s been a few weeks since the seventh season of Cartoon Network favorite The Amazing World of Gumball publicly revealed itself as the domestically Hulu-original The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball. The announcement came with almost everything, including that it will be available on Disney+ through the Hulu integration, but there were two major omissions: a premiere date and a release model. On Tuesday, we got one of those: the six-year wait will end on July 28.
Unfortunately, that’s all the new information we have. They haven’t even been open about how many episodes there will be, though I believe dozens of titles have been found. A July 28 premiere in fact positions it on the week before the first revival season of King of the Hill premieres on August 4 with all ten of its episodes. In their social posts, Hulu confidently captioned “We are so back”, while Cartoon Network excitedly said “WE HAVE A DATE!”, which was admittedly interesting contrast.
'The Amazing World Of Gumball' Revival Gets Title, Bypasses Cartoon Network For Hulu
Okay things have turned really weird when checking the life signs for Cartoon Network. In 2021, it would be announced that the network's beloved series The Anazing World of Gumball, which had to many’s surprise ended a 6-season, 240 episode run in 2019, would be getting a movie to pick up on the finale’s ominous cliffhanger. By the end of that year it w…
Created and executive produced by original series creator Ben Bocquelet, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball boasts its eclectic mix of media styles including 2D & 3D animation, CGI, puppetry, photorealism and live action, into a “wildly imaginative world defined by its vibrant visual style and sharp meta humor”. The logline reads “Welcome back to Elmore, where the laws of reality are a joke, and family life is anything but ordinary. Whether he’s battling an evil fast-food empire, facing off against a sentient AI in love with his mom, or trying to stop Banana Joe from wearing pants — Gumball Watterson drags his brother Darwin, sister Anais, and the rest of the town of Elmore along for the ride. With even wilder stories, bigger twists, and surreal humor, the show is so amazing that they had to rename it!” Again, very self aware.
In the cast, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’s Alkaio Thiele has taken over as Gumball, Hero Hunter has as Darwin, and Kinza Syed Khan as younger sister Anais, in what is seemingly the character’s first recast. Of course, Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell are back as parents Nicole and Richard, because it’s impossible to age out of post-pubescent characters. Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain serve as executive producers and series directors. The composer for the series is Xav Clarke and Joe Sparrow serves as Art Director.
'King Of The Hill' Revival Releases Intro Sequence, Dale-ivers Recast And Premiere Date Accessories
Well I tell you what’s going on here. Hulu has released the intro sequence to the revival of the animated series King of the Hill, which originally ran on Fox from 1997 to 2009 for 13 seasons and 258 episodes. To this point, very little had officially been revealed, but with it came the reveal that season 14 would be premiering on August 4. Specifically…
