'Superman & Lois' Releases Season 4 Trailer Possibly Early
Where did you go, Mr. Superman, are you dead or hiding? Tell us now
This is going to be the best & Lois season ever. After releasing a teaser for an official trailer release for Superman & Lois season 4 at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday at 11:15 AM, home network The CW released at least a trailer on Tuesday, giving a fuller more detailed look at the season, with more promised to be revealed at the panel. Maybe what we get there will be a second trailer that will feature Superman.
Superman seems to be very dead, killed by Doomsday probably offscreen during the final phase of the battle that began at the very end of the third season finale. He seems to even launch the corpse through a planet to destroy it. The world is without its protector. Lois understandably is bawling. He wasn’t supposed to be the first to go. She later feels the emptiness of his absence. We get the confirmation that John Henry and Natalie Irons will be appearing together, played once again by former series regulars Wole Parks and Tayler Buck as Natalie feels sorry that Jordan and Jonathan don’t have their father anymore. And it’s hitting Jordan, played by Alex Garfin, hardest, so much that he’s made his own Night Monkey-esque suit but with way less resources. He even confronts Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) suited up in such way, a move he’d come to regret, as Lex tells him next time he “better be ready to kill” him. Mom and bro aren’t happy about his coping methods either. Jonathan (played by Michael Bishop)’s anger results in him flipping a table. General Lane, played by Dylan Walsh is still Lex’s captive but he’s being buried alive.
Superman always comes back. He kind of has to at some point. Would be weird if a series regular role was dead for several episodes of a ten-episode season. While an admittedly small pool of series regular roles this season thanks to well-documented budget cuts, he, played of course by Tyler Hoechlin, is the only one absent from the trailers thus far. The fourth and final season of Superman & Lois will premiere on The CW on Thursday, October 17 with a two-hour premiere starting at 8:00 PM, continuing in that timeslot for the remaining 8 weekly episodes. Other shed regulars, Emmanuelle Chriqui‘s Lana Lang and Erik Valdez as the character’s ex-husband Kyle Cushing are also expected to return. New castmembers include Yvonne Chapman as Amanda McCoy, who headed LuthorCorp in Lex’s absence, and Douglas Smith as Daily Planet colleague Jimmy Olsen.
