Nickelodeon And Paramount+ Release Teaser For 'The Thundermans Return'
Nickelodeon’s second-biggest live action superhero franchise is back to save the day this March
It’s only been ten days since Paramount+ released Good Burger 2, but the streamer came powered up to CCXP at the São Paulo Expo in São Paulo with the next Nickelodeon property revival, The Thundermans Return, a reunion movie of sorts for the network’s 2013-2018 superhero sitcom, The Thundermans. The streamer released the film’s first teaser Saturday afternoon, during their panel where stars and executive producers Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo talked about this era of superheroes and their return to the characters.
Being only 30 seconds, the meat of it is the family making their entrances and showing up to stop an oncoming meteor strike. The Thundermans Return centers around the superpowered family suffering a setback three years into their time protecting Metroburg, as a failed mission has them stripped of that assignment and sent back to Hiddenville. Hank and Barb enjoy their return, with Billy and Nora looking forward to a normal high school experience, and Chloe quickly making friends of her own, but Max and Phoebe are eager to get back their superhero status.
The Thundermans Return stars Kosarin as Phoebe and Griffo as her twin brother Max, with both serving as executive producers, as they’re old enough to take on such roles with the thorough understanding of the characters. The rest of the family is also returning: Addison Riecke as Nora, Diego Velazquez as Billy, Maya Le Clark as youngest child Chloe, Rosa Blasi as mom Barb, and Chris Tallman as dad Hank, with Harvey Guillén returning as Blobbin and Dana Snyder presumably back as Dr. Colosso, as two of probably a bunch of promised returning favorites.
Created and executive produced by Jed Spingarn, the original Thundermans series ranked as the top series across all TV in the Kids 2-11 and 6-11 demographics during its time. Spingarn also writes The Thundermans Return, which will be directed by Trevor Kirschner, who previously directed episodes of the series. The other executive producers are Dan Cross and David Hoge. The film will premiere on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in March 2024.
