Meet Metroburg’s Meteors In New 'The Thundermans Return' Peeks
These peeks are hopefully the last before the movie premieres on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon on Thursday, March 7
The premiere of the The Thundermans movie The Thundermans Return is just 4 days away on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. Exact runtimes haven’t been released, but its linear premiere runs until 8:45 PM, a full hour and 45 minutes, so that’s promising. Still, two new clips have been released since the one that aired following the Danger Force finale, and that brings it to about six and a half minutes. As long as no more clips come, it should be enough that not too much is given away.
The first clip is a short one-minute sneak peek at the family’s off-time in Metroburg. Phoebe and Max, played by Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo, are more concerned with the online chatter and magazine covers they’re in and on respectively, to play board games with their youngest sister, Chloe, played by Maya LeClark. The excitement we saw from Nora, played by Addison Riecke and Billy, played by Diego Velazquez upon their homecoming to Hiddenville for a normal high school life, especially socially, comes from the family having become entirely functioning on superheroing and them not having any sort of education in Metroburg. Billy has to realize he was being manipulated by the villain Squidman and his henchmen. Barb (Rosa Blasi) likes the normalcy, while Hank (Chris Tallman)’s couch shenanigans at the homecoming gains context as he had never gotten accustomed to their Metroburg couch in the three years they’d been there. There’s a crime alert but Max accidentally grabs the TV remote instead of the one that opens the doors to the crime lab and walks into the wall.
The second clip is the full meteor strike first seen as the movie’s teaser. The T-Force (which is the family) arrives and hold a pose. Each use their codenames and powers to destroy meteors. But Chloe is definitely ready to move on from “Thunderbaby”. Max’s vanity issues that will cause them to botch the evening mission that sends them back to Hiddenville are already popping up, but don’t do enough to hamper this mission. Even still, one of the stray meteorites goes karmic and strikes him in the crotch while he’s not paying attention.
While the promise of familiar characters and locations has been largely fulfilled based on everything revealed so far, it will be several new, sinister villains ready to wreak havoc and be defeated by Phoebe and Max to get back in good standing among the heroes following the mishap that strips them of duties. Series creator and executive producer Jed Spingarn, an alumnus of Jimmy Neutron and Pinky and the Brain, also writes The Thundermans Return, which is directed by Trevor Kirschner, who previously directed episodes of the series. The other executive producers are Dan Cross and David Hoge. Sean W. Cunningham and Marc Dworkin helped develop the story. The film premieres on March 7 on Paramount+ at normal content traffic time, 2:01 or 3:01 AM Eastern, before its previously-mentioned 7 PM Eastern premiere on Nickelodeon. The leisure clip is housed only on a native player from the source listed in such designated section, while the meteor fight can be watched below.
