'The Marvels' Get A Royal Visit In Final Trailer
The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film releases on November 10
It was just three days before preview screenings start for the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels starring Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani, but Disney and Marvel Studios managed to squeeze out one final trailer for the film before its release. They debuted it during the Monday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers on ESPN.
Carol shoulders the burden of a destabilized universe tanks to unintended consequences. Her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole created by Dar-Benn, and her powers become entangled with Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel, played by Vellani, and her estranged niece, Captain Monica Rambeau, now a S.A.B.E.R. astronaut, played by Parris. They must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe.
In what might be seen as desperation, the trailer starts off with flashbacks to Robert Downey Jr.โs Tony Stark aka Iron Man and Chris Evansโs Captain America Steve Rogers, as well as to the preceding film, in what might be analogous to the โFirst Pokรฉmonโ debate between Mew, Arceus, Rhydon, and Bulbasaur. Heroes may be an old fashioned notion but the world could still need them. Zawe Ashton's dark win has apparently torn a hole in space, and now an alternate reality is seeping through. She seemingly can't be matched or controlled. Lots of fight-filled action. Be there for the moment that changes everything because there are already spoilers and leaks rampant on Twitter. Asgardian King Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, tells Larsonโs Carol Danvers โYou can stand tall without standing alone.โ But someone's here.
The Marvels also stars Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury, as well as Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Saagar Shaikh. It is directed by Nia DaCosta, and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis DโEsposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. DaCosta also wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik.
