'Venom 3' Adds 'Letterkenny' Star Clark Backo
The actress joins Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple as new characters in the film series about the Spider-Man foe
With filming resuming on many movies after holiday break, more faces are bound to show up for work that may not have been publicly known prior. It turns out for Sony’s Venom 3, that includes Letterkenny actress Clark Backo.
Backo, the daughter of musician Njacko Backo, is probably best known for playing Rosie on the recently-ended Canadian comedy Letterkenny for all but the first of its 12 seasons, the last of which premiered in December on Hulu. Her most recent credit is the Apple TV+ limited series The Changeling, playing Emma, the wife of Apollo played by LaKeith Stanfield. A new mom, Emma is emotionally suffering before vanishing without a trace. Her prior credits include Supernatural, The Handmaid’s Tale, Hemlock Grove, and Designated Survivor. In film, she appeared in Prime Video’s I Want You Back with Charlie Day and Jenny Slate.
Like Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor before her, character details are under wraps for the next film installment for Sony’s most successful Spider-Man foe, appearing alongside star Tom Hardy. Venom 3 currently has a November 8 release date. It is directed by Kelly Marcel, in a debut from a screenplay she wrote that from a story she and Hardy developed. The pair also produce the film alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker. Sony unveiled the film’s first logo at CES 2024 last month, where the 3 was treated as superscript. Venom 3 is set to be released on November 8, so it might be tight.
