Juno Temple Reveals 'Wild' And 'Wonderful' Filming Of 'Venom 3' Is Close To Ending
The third installment of the Sony Marvel franchise releases in theaters on November 8
Don’t expect too much more “revealed by showing up” casting news for Venom 3 going forward, probably gotta move on to trailers. Juno Temple was interviewed on the Screen Actors Guild Awards silver carpet, attending as part of the ensemble of Ted Lasso, and she told Variety that filming is almost wrapped up for the Sony Marvel film.
“We’re coming close to an end at the moment,” Temple said. “It’s been a wild, wonderful ride. It’s so new to me. It’s a big set! This is crazy. It’s been so much fun and I got to work with such cool people. I’ve been so lucky in my career to just have the most incredible casts. I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.” Filming had originally started in late June, and so easily and quickly ran into a stoppage upon the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike. It resumed on November 16, a quick regroup following the end of the strike less than a week earlier.
Temple has previously said this about Tom Hardy being the perfect Venom “His relationship to how he feels about Venom and Eddie together…its something that feels really close to his heart. It matters to him. I don’t know if anyone else could play Venom. That’s a tough pair of shoes to follow.”
Very little about Venom 3 is known, in terms of plot, cast, and characters, aside from the obvious Hardy back as Eddie Brock and Venom. Temple is a lead, but we’ve hit double digit months since she’s been cast and we know nothing else about the character. Same for Chiwetel Ejiofor, cast in May, and Clark Backo, who was announced last week. Four cast members probably do not make a whole movie, but they’re keeping things very tight. The film is directed by Kelly Marcel, in a debut from a screenplay she wrote that from a story she and Hardy developed. The pair also produce the film alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.
