'Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths - Part Three' Pockets A Climactic Battle In Official Trailer
It’s going to be one hot face-off this July
It all comes down to this, with journalistic integrity. Warner Bros. Entertainment has released the official trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three, the final part of the Tomorrowverse-ending adaptation of the OG event comic.
It actually comes a week after releasing a 30-second spot that tackles the heroes grappling with the fact that Lex Luthor has sold them out to the Anti-Monitor. Everyone’s doing everything in and with their power to repel him. Kara’s accessing her own inner powers. That in turn was a week after the release of Part Two. The release of the trailer did bring details with it, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three will be available to purchase exclusively on digital marketplaces like Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, and Vudu, on July 16 (with a standard retail price of $19.99) and on 4K UHD in limited edition SteelBook packaging ($47.99) and Blu-ray ($29.98) the following Tuesday, July 23. With this, it confirms that releases were every three months following January’s release of Part One.
The film’s synopsis reads
Now fully revealed as the ultimate threat to existence, the Anti-Monitor wages an unrelenting attack on the surviving Earths that struggle for survival in a pocket universe. One-by-one, these worlds and all their inhabitants are vaporized! On the planets that remain, even time itself is shattered and heroes from the past join the Justice League and their rag-tag allies against the epitome of evil. But as they make their last stand, will the sacrifice of the superheroes be enough to save us all?
As Kara realizes what she’s done, the surviving heroes are placed at the Bleed, a dimension that exists outside of the multiverse and hidden from the Anti-Monitor. Unfortunately, unlike the Vanishing Point in the Arrowverse adaptation, the Bleed has stability issues. Space and time are colliding in ways that bring vicious dinosaurs to the present. It’s tearing apart, and the Anti-Monitor finds them thanks to Lex’s tip. And yet he still wants it defeated by finding its weakness. While Batman has a fear gas encounter with Scarecrow, Doctor Fate introduces the idea of enlisting other universes, from before the existence of their multiverse. And praise be told, that includes the Superfriends! Praise be, it’s not just the DCAU getting in on this climax. With some Jay Garrick speed, Superman laser eyes and a flight to the sun, Aquaman heads home to be with Mera in his world’s final moments.
Part Three’s voice cast, as seen by how many survivors are brought to The Bleed and how many new worlds are sure to be explored is vast, and led once again by Jensen Ackles as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Darren Criss as Superman & Earth-2 Superman, Aldis Hodge as Green Lantern/John Stewart, Meg Donnelly as Supergirl, and Stana Katic as Wonder Woman & Superwoman, with Corey Stoll as Lex Luthor. Jimmi Simpson’s Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow must’ve taken a hit in the role he plays because he’s not listed with the leads, instead with the long list of supporting players. Batman Beyond, who first appeared in the second film, returns voiced by Will Friedle, who also voices Kamandi. As for Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy reprising as Joker and Batman one last time, their portrayals are designated as Earth-12, a designation commonly associated with the DCAU. I wouldn’t look too much into it as some sort of hypothetical “They messed up the DCAU and it’s no longer five years into Bruce’s Batman retirement where the Joker has been long gone”. It’s just a fun homage and tribute. Again, it could be an identical but stalled world compared to the DCAU where the Batman: The Animated Series aesthetic is intact. Both the teaser and the full trailer feature Earth-12 Batman and Joker battling out.
As for the rest of the ensemble, there’s The ensemble also includes (in alphabetical order) Gideon Adlon as Batgirl, Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter/J’Onn J’Onzz, Geoffrey Arend as Psycho Pirate/Charles Halstead, Troy Baker as The Joker & Spider Guild Lantern, Brian Bloom as Adam Strange & Sidewinder, Matt Bomer as The Flash, Ashly Burch as Nightshade & Queen Mera, Zach Callison as Earth-2 Robin & Robin/Damian Wayne, Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane, Brett Dalton as Bat Lash & Captain Atom, John DiMaggio as Lobo, Ato Essandoh as Mr. Terrific, Keith Ferguson as Doctor Fate and Two-Face, Jennifer Hale as Hippolyta & Green Lantern Aya, Jamie Gray Hyder as Hawkgirl & Young Diana, Erika Ishii as Doctor Light/Dr. Hoshi & Huntress, David Kaye as The Question & Cardonian Lantern, Matt Lanter as Blue Beetle, Liam McIntryre as Aquaman, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams as Dr. Beth Chapel & The Cheetah, Lou Diamond Phillips as The Spectre, Elysia Rotaru as Black Canary & Black Canary II, Matt Ryan as John Constantine (specifically the one of the previous Animated Movie Universe that has served as this adaptation’s Pariah), Katee Sackhoff as Poison Ivy, Keesha Sharp as Vixen, Jason Spisak as Blue Lantern Razer & Hayseed, Armen Taylor as The Flash Jay Garrick, Gas Soldier & Executioner, and Dean Winters as Captain Storm.
