Nickelodeon Announces 'Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert'
Brought to you by the Music Lord and Percussion King!
Move over Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions! You too Sonic Symphony, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and whatever other TV, movie, or video game franchise-inspired orchestral concerts I am most certainly forgetting. The Avatar is here and you’ve got to deal with it!
Nickelodeon has announced Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert, where the music and iconic scenes from the series are brought to life by a live orchestra. It’s a very special chance to relive the epic odyssey of the 2005-2008 acclaimed Nicktoon like never before. It’s probably an easy claim to make though as while several franchises have gotten such treatment, Avatar: The Last Airbender is most certainly the first Nicktoon to get it. Composed and arranged by the show’s Emmy Award-winning composer and musician Jeremy Zuckerman, it’s a two+-hour show in perfect harmony with highlights and favorite moments from the series, with all the swells of a Fire Nation attack. Taiko and erhu will share the spotlight with violins and clarinets, while the series' most beloved scenes play out on screen. Viewers are immersed into the Avatar world to experience the series’ most memorable moments with Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Zuko and more. Could “more” mean pieces from sequel series The Legend of Korra? Possibly.
So far, four shows are known, all for next year. First, on January 21, 2024, they’ll be performing at Royal Festival Hall in London in the United Kingdom. Four days later, they’ll be performing at Le Grand Rex in Paris, France. A month after that begins begins the domestic leg, with a performance at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco, California on February 24. The final known show is March 2 at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.
Tickets are not yet available but coming October 20 at 10 AM Eastern Time, so yip yip! A trailer can be watched on the information page through a native player.
