'Monsters At Work' Moves To Disney Channel For Season 2; Get Premiere Date
The series premiered on Disney+ in 2021 and introduces a wrench in rollout strategy
After more than two and a half years, Monsters At Work, the series spinoff of beloved Pixar film Monsters Inc., is finally returning for its second season. However, in a move that once again makes one question Disney’s confidence in their Disney+ streaming service, it will be premiering April 5 on Disney Channel.
Monsters at Work originally premiered on Disney+ and ran its ten-episode first season from July to September 2021. It made its linear Disney Channel debut in January 2023, running to early February with returns in April (for Halfway to Halloween), June and September. With a two-episode premiere, they’ve prepared for all ten episodes to air over that and the subsequent four weeks, however with Saturday morning 10 AM timeslots leading up to a May 4 season finale because its Disney+ arrival has been set for the next day, May 5. The plot synopsis for the new season describes “Tylor’s journey as a Jokester and his friendship with Val face the ultimate test. When new doors of opportunity unexpectedly open at rival energy company, FearCo, Tylor’s co-workers at Monsters Inc. begin to question his loyalty. As his Laugh Floor partnership with Val is pushed to the brink, Tylor must discover where he really belongs.”
